National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, visited his party’s headquarters on Tuesday for the first time since his initial suspension by an Abuja High Court.
On Monday, the Court of Appeal ordered a stay of execution of the high court’s judgment, rescinding Mr. Oshiomhole’s suspension.
Mr Oshiomhole was suspended on March 4.
During his Tuesday visit, the APC National Working Committee met.
Here are some pictures of Oshiomhole’s entry and other members of the APC NWC:
My attention has been drawn to an hasty interview which from all indications was done online because the interviewee isn’t in the country.
When I thought we were done with the Ward Congress, Usoro is still conducting his and is still not satisfied. Even when we went for a rerun, he’s still not happy with himself. One may begin to wonder what he really wants?
The ‘non inclusion’ that he complains lives with him. The current and re-elected Ward Chairman of his Ward is his cousin, the Chapter Treasurer of the PDP in Esit Eket is his immediate younger brother. Slots for jobs allocated to him are shared amongst his family members.
In balancing the lies in that interview, the Chapter Youth Leader Hon. Emem Sunday Peter, Usoro claims is from Elder Ben’s Ward actually comes from Usoro’s Zone(Ward 6), the Chapter Woman Leader Mrs Grace Itama comes from Zone C (Ward7)
The Local Government Chairman is from Ward 3 and that’s not Elder Ben’s Ward as stated in his interview. From inception of the PDP, Usoro’s Zone (Zone B) and Zone C has always been producing State Officers of the Party, why cry foul if Zone A is taking the shot for the first time? Nobody is stopping Usoro from seeking re-election, but he shouldn’t feel he’s the only one with moral right to seek political office.
The State House position which he enjoys today has been jostling between the 2 Zones (B and C) and he hasn’t seen anything wrong with it. Even as he seeks re-election, has he cared to find out what the interest of Zone A which Elder Ben hails from is? Calling out a respectable and good hearted man like Elder Ben on a daily marvels every right thinking human.
Elder Ben hated you so much but spent so much to see to your emergence? All the antics orchestrated in recent times aren’t new to us the people of Esit Eket. All those who left the party as claimed by you went for thier personal business, some came back when they saw it wasn’t as rosy as they thought; but others wouldn’t due to bloated ego.
Nobody should hide under the pretext of Ward Congress and perpatuate anti party activities. You love the party so much and wish it succeeds, how much have you funded the party at the chapter level let alone the state? Whoever takes your sole agitation seriously needs to be examined.
While others wish they had the likes of Elder Ben in their area, our House Member seeks to enthrone himself.
Our common senses are intact, we’ll make use of it in times like this.

AKWA IBOM’s ALMAJIRIS
By Udeme Nnanna
They are not non – indigenes , they are not tall or thin like Hausa – Fulanis from the Northern parts of the country. They are not Muslims nor animists.Their dentition does not betray them as people who who engage in an intercourse with kola – nut every minute. No , they do not carry small plastic plates around and do not turn out in dirty danshiki. They dont look unkempt and are not illiterates.
They are able – bodied , some tall , fair and handsome while some are charcoal black, stocky and look hard. Some are graduates from tertiary Institutions and are not products of polygamous harems. They are not invalids.Definitely not disabled .They are well built, with strong limbs, two good legs , two hands , two bright eyes to see ,noses to smell, ears to hear and tongues to speak. They have brains and can think.
In Onna, Uyo, Ikot Ekpene , Oron , Ini , Ikono and in almost all other localities , these crop of youths would gather at funeral services , marriage venues , outside wedding reception halls , at political and socio – cultural events to stalk their victims.
They are the Almajiris of Akwa Ibom, made in Akwa Ibom by Akwa Ibom during an uncommon era.It wasn’t this columnist.
The student’s group of these Almajiris can also be found around the gates of Institutions of higher learning like the Obio Akpa Campus of the State University. The church environment is not left out from this business by our own Almajiris.
Their targets are mostly people they estimate to be very very important persons, high profile politicians and top corporate executives. They operate by setting up on seeing any tinted, gleaming SUV glide into a venue and they rush into unsolicited cheer, a song and then a dance to massage the ego of the big person. In most cases , they succeed, smile away and celebrate but in few instances when they draw blank which they unanimously agree is a ” bad market ” they move away, dejected, feeling frustrated, uttering invectives , curse words in disappointment.
That is what happens , from one prospect to another until the dust of depatures settle after public events.
This time – bomb of youths in their prime turned public beggars is completely not in our genes. The typical Akwa Ibom person was both self – respecting royalty and intensely dignified, hardworking , self – driven republican. Not lazy. Not public beggars. Not praise – singers for tokens of money. The typical able – bodied Akwa Ibom person loved his farmwork in a season like this and was not given to cluster around under the scorching sun to beg for money from fellow men. What a transformation. In the North where it is deeply rooted , it was a term for children who left their homes in search of Islamic education and upbringing. They were managed by Mallams, Quranic teachers but their population increased disproportionately as a result of a polygamous system and freedom to breed as many children as possible.
This culture which creeped into Akwa Ibom in the past decade shows that something snapped.Values changed . Society embraced and promoted false values.Industries died . Jobs dried up, and most of the youths even lost interest in work. Most of them lack cognate skills and they hate to be told to learn a trade or acquire any productive skill.
A poulation such as this is a keg of gun powder waiting to be ignited by any crisis. That is why the North burns each time there is a crisis because their Almajiris are ready and willing hands in the employ of political patrons.
This is not an ideal that should be celebrated, patronised or glossed over in these parts. These youths should be quarantined, not as victims of coronavirus but for refinement of their sensibilities and training.
So far, our various social orientation and re – orientation agencies and commissions have been clueless , reactive and tame; getting these set of youths off the grounds of special events should be a job and securing loans for them to enable them go into start – ups would be a nice and sustainable breakthrough. Let’s not live with these Almajiris because it is quite embarrassing and completely out of place.

God bless you all as we join our hands and save her life!
As Emir, Sanusi spent billions to renovate his palace, and ₦37 million on phone calls in 3 years. He furnished his palace with ₦152.6 million, and bought vehicles worth almost ₦200 million.
He had a personal library worth hundreds of millions. All at taxpayers expense. Please Google everything I just wrote. I deal in facts, not speculation. How much did he spend on the almajiri he loved so much? Sanusi talked passionately about educating almajiri and talakawas. Yet, whilst he was Emir, he built not even a single school for them.
The billions of Naira he spent renovating his palace could have built 500 schools for the talakawa he ‘loves’ so much!
SANUSI, EL-RUFAI DEPART AWE FOR ABUJA • Sanusi heads to Lagos from Abuja
Kaduna Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has said the dethroned Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, would head to Lagos from Abuja.
El-Rufai visited Sanusi in Awe, Nasarawa State, as a mark of solidarity, a statement from the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Muyiwa Adekeye, said.
According to the statement, the governor, who drove from Abuja to Awe town, “met Sanusi in high spirits, demonstrating his usual calm, poise, and regal-bearing” despite his removal four days ago.
“His Highness seems to have taken all that happened in his stride but reiterated his commitment to enforcing his fundamental human rights,” the statement added.
It said that El-Rufai arrived Awe shortly after a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja granted an interim order releasing Sanusi from detention.
The statement said Sanusi and El-Rufai attended Friday prayers together in Awe, where the former Emir led the Jumma’at prayers, adding that “hundreds of well-wishers lined up the road of Awe to hail His Highness on his way to the Mosque and back to his residence.”
The statement further said, “The duo rode in Governor El Rufai’s car to Abuja, from where Sanusi II would proceed to Lagos.”
